The Social Science Research Institute: University of Iceland

The Social Science Research Institute is an academic and research institute under the auspices of three faculties of the University of Iceland, the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, the Faculty of Social Work, and the Faculty of Political Science. Founded in 1986, the institute is the first and strongest of its kind in Iceland. Fourteen research offices and centres operate within the Institute, all in the fields of the aforementioned faculties. The Institute also works closely with the academic staff of those faculties as well as other research institutes within the university.

The institute undertakes high-quality research and service projects in the field of social sciences as well as interdisciplinary research. It provides advice and service regarding everything concerning research, e.g. advice on research procedures, questionnaire construction and data analysis.
