NatCen Social Research, London

NatCen Social Research is an independent, non-profit social survey research institute which both initiates social research and undertakes government studies on a wide range of social policy issues.

Founded in 1969, NatCen is best known for its high-quality social surveys and its methodological contributions and is the UK’s largest independent social research institute. In addition to its quantitative studies, NatCen also undertakes a wide range of qualitative, mixed method and evaluation research.

NatCen is a founding member of ISSP. It has an annual research income of over 40 million pounds sterling, a staff of over 200 and over 1,000 interviewers nationwide. NatCen publishes a British Social Attitudes Survey report – now available online via www.natcen.ac.uk – every year.
