The Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Milan

The Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Milan is multidisciplinary in nature, drawing together sociologists, political scientists, legal scholars, economists and anthropologists who apply their skills to developing collaborative, multidisciplinary research and teaching programs across a large range of issues of current interest for the social and political sciences.

The Department has a solid record of international research projects carried out by its members, several of which gained ERCs grants and hold other EU-funded grants.

In 2018 the SPS Department ranked first in the national ranking of departments in the social sciences, as the result of the research activity of its members between 2004 and 2010 as assessed by ANVUR (National Agency on Evaluation of Research and University).
