Lithuania’s ISSP membership consists of a joint membership of Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and Faculty of Social Sciences, Vytautas Magnus University Kaunas (VMU).

Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Kaunas University of Technology

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities creates a dynamic and solid platform for the development of contemporary knowledge and innovation society in Lithuania, with the focus on research and study excellence in merging social sciences, arts and humanities with technologies. The Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities and its scholars are very active in European and international scientific cooperation. There is a wide spectrum of research teams, mostly working in interdisciplinary academic areas, including active participation in cross-national or national research programmes. Among the main research fields are such as sociology, political science, public policy and public administration. The faculty also has strong methodological competences. It hosts the Lithuanian Data Archive for Social Sciences and Humanities (LiDA) that is responsible for acquisition and dissemination of national and international data sets, data access to international data archives, national and international data analysis training.

Faculty of Social Sciences, Vytautas Magnus University

It was established as a public research and studies institution in 1990 at the Vytautas Magnus University. The faculty has four main disciplines: sociology and social anthropology, psychology and social work. Many  research projects at the Faculty of Social Sciences are focused on a comparative study of Lithuanian and European societies. The Faculty is strongly engaged in developing inter-disciplinary research and research methods for the social sciences. Since 2019 the Vytautas Magnus University has been coordinating the implementation of European Social Survey (ESS) in Lithuania.
